Baptist Men & Women

The Baptist Men & Women are members of a group concerned with our neighbors around us as well as far from us. The BMW has traveled to Florida to help renovate a church, to Louisiana to help with disaster relief, to Raleigh to help with tornado clean-up. This traveling group doesn’t miss an opportunity to help residents in our very own community with clean-ups, repairs, and support of all kinds.

News from Feb. 4 Meeting:

Plans for our new spring churchwide fundraiser – Buck Bailey mentioned some future projects to complete some small details around the new church (build wall around dumpster, re-do the playground, etc.) that will be coming up.  Thed O’Neal reported on what it will take to have our next barbeque fundraiser on March 31 and add Brunswick stew to the menu. Startup for this year will include purchasing a 90-gallon cast iron pot and building the skirt and burner system to go with it. Everyone was enthusiastic about the idea and is committing to that Friday, from 4:00 a.m. to probably 6-7:00 p.m. and beginning again around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, the day of the cook. As usual, however, many hands make the work lighter, so there will be a sign-up list for volunteers and donations very soon!
