Woodland Celebrates 150th Year!

Woodland Baptist Church opened its doors in 1862, and this Sunday will celebrate its 150th year as a church family with lots of music, fellowship, and food! Come join us May 20 for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and stay for the worship service at 11:00 a.m. After worship, members and visitors will enjoy a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall. The Homecoming and Historical Committees have been working to display some historical photos and documents for our enjoyment, too!

Mountain Faith, a bluegrass gospel group, will start our Homecoming festivities Saturday night with a concert beginning at 7:00 p.m. They will also be leading the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship hour.

May 23 – Business Meeting Items

BUSINESS MEETING: May 23 at 7:00 PM. Items for vote:

1) Nominating committee recommends the addition of a Worship & Music Committee & additional members for the Historical Committee.

2) Deacons recommendation Our By-laws state that the Pastor Search Committee be comprised of 5 members & that there be a proper balance of members (male/female) and be age diversified (young adults/senior adults). The deacons are requesting that the number of committee members be increased from five to 9. Please be in prayer for this.

WOODLAND WOMEN RETREAT: April 13 – 15 at Caswell.
YOUTH MISSION Weekend – April 21 – 23
Woodland will host this event and we need volunteers to help lead teams on projects.
BUSINESS MEETING: April 15 at 7:00 PM. Along with other business items, we will be voting to request that the Ordination Committee of the Raleigh Baptist Association begin the ordination process for Chris Walker.

BRICK PAVERS: Have you seen the pavers in front of the new Sanctuary? There is still plenty of room for additional pavers at $100 each. Contact the church office for more information.

NEW BUILDING FURNISHINGS – There are still pews ($500 or $1000) and chandeliers ($400) available.

Youth – ReGroup

RE-GROUP (Bible Study) – Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m.

All youth (7th – 12th grade) are invited to attend on Sunday afternoons from 4-7 PM as we “re-group” and come back together to share a meal with one another, study the Bible, and enjoy some fun activities & fellowship. For other youth activities, visit our Youth page.
